Stephen Rawe, MD
Dr. Rawe graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and he completed his residency in neurological surgery at Yale Medical Center. He then joined the faculty at the MUSC where he established a minimally invasive microsurgical pituitary practice, obtained NIH research funding for experimental spinal cord trauma and earned a PhD in Neuroanatomy. He has been instrumental in introducing new technology to the Charleston area of pedicle screw spinal instrumentation, artificial cervical disk placement and kyphoplasty for osteoporotic compression fractures. Dr. Rawe is an active member and past president of the South Carolina Association of Neurological Surgeons and he is the founding president of the South Carolina Spine Society.

George Khoury, MD
Dr. Khoury is a long-term member of the lowcountry healthcare community. After completing his residency and internship in Neurological Surgery at the MUSC, he joined Charleston Neurosurgical Associates in 1986 as an associate partner. His area of excellence focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of brain and spinal abnormalities, specializing in neurological surgery of the cervical, lumbar and thoracic spines. Dr. Khoury holds leadership positions in the South Carolina Spine Society and the South Carolina Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is also the chairman of the Roper St. Francis Department of Neurosurgery.

Brian Cuddy, MD
Dr. Cuddy graduated from Albany Medical College and completed his residency in neurological surgery at MUSC. Following completion of his residency training, he completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is the Chairman of the SC Spinal Cord Injury Research Fund. He holds an appointment as Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at MUSC and Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at Clemson University. Dr. Cuddy is currently serving as Chief of Staff for Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital.

John Steichen, MD
Dr. Steichen graduated with honors from Harvard Medical School in 1985. He then completed an internship in general surgery followed by a six year residency training program in neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been in clinical practice since 1992 as both a co-founder of Coastal Neurosurgery & Spine in Charleston and the founder of Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Center in Greenwood, SC.

Byron Bailey, MD
Dr. Bailey has been a member of the Charleston medical community for over 23 years. He is a graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and Erskine College. Dr. Bailey completed his residency and internship at the Medical University of South Carolina where he also served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery.

James Reilly Keffer, DO
Dr.Keffer is a board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and specializes in the non-operative/conservative treatment of patients with neck pain, low back pain, sciatica and various other musculoskeletal conditions. He completed medical school at Des Moines University and his residency at the University Hospitals of Columbia Presbyterian and Cornell. He did a spine/musculoskeletal fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital. Dr. Keffer emphasizes the importance of exercise and high quality physical therapy in the rehabilitation of those with sub-acute and chronic neck and low back pain. Dr. Keffer also performs spine injection procedures as well as other procedures to treat musculoskeletal pain.

Robert Morgan Stuart, MD
Dr. Stuart grew up in Charleston before attending Duke University and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the prestigious Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University Medical Center. While at Columbia University, Dr. Stuart conducted research in advanced neuro-monitoring techniques for acute brain injury and has authored numerous scientific publications and book chapters.
Dr. Stuart specializes in all aspects of spine surgery, as well as the managment of primary and metastatic brain tumors. He also uses state-of-the-art technology such as frameless image guidance systems and stereotactic Cyber Knife radiosurgery. Dr. Stuart believes that dedication both to the best in surgical advancements and to the quality of the physician-patient relationship allows him to provide the optimum opportunity for helping patients deal with complex neurosurgical problems.

Cindy Anderson, APRN, ACNP
Cindy Anderson, Nurse Practitioner, has over 25 years of experience in nursing. She earned her ADN at Baptist College of Charleston, her BSN and MSN at the Medical University of South Carolina and her post-graduate Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree from USC in Columbia. Cindy's duties include assisting in the operating room, admitting and discharging patients, consults, rounding, and patient and family education. She examines patients during follow-up visits and is available to talk to patients about any concerns they may have. Cindy is also active in critical care in the Tricounty areas.

Larry Harris, PA-C, MPAS
Larry Harris is a Physician Assistant with over 25 years of medical experience. He earned his bachelor's degree at Howard University and his masters degree at the University of Nebraska. Larry is a member of the Association of Neurosurgical Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He has several years experience in the academic setting and was Director of Madigan Army Medical Center's Physician Assistant Emergency Medicine fellowship program. Larry is a retired Army officer.
